Cache Object Script is an embedded scripting language that can be written in a variety of different scripting languages. As a scripting language, it provides the ability to create and programmatically manipulate reusable scripts. It was created by Apple in 1998 for use with the Macintosh computers and has since spread to being used in a variety of different networking environments. The reason for creating this script type was because of the difficulties that were experienced when working with various different network operating systems. The script allows for faster interaction and overall, simpler and more efficient use of the system.
